*My Baby is ONE*

This should have been written back in October..I have been working on this post in my head since before his birthday...it may have to come in twos...one for the post one for the pictures. ;) So better late than never I guess.....

I remember the day so clearly..9(10) months of waiting and its the Friday before our little man is scheduled to be brought into this world. It was a very long 9(10) months not just because of the excitement and anticipation BUT because our little Angel baby didn't make it very easy on me. :)
SO I am on my first officially day of maternity leave on Friday October 31, 2008, we had literally just moved into to our new home the weekend before. My c-section was scheduled for Monday November 3. I was at the hospital for my FINAL OB appointment and for my pre-opt that way on Monday all we had to do was head straight for L & D. I finish up my Dr appt and head down stairs to wait to register....Not 5 minutes into my wait one of my favorite nurses comes from the elevators with a blood pressure cuff. I looked at her like she was crazy and said what are you doing?! Lonnie informs me that as Dr. C was looking over my chart after left he noticed my blood pressure.....it was high....160/80 something....so he sent her down to take it again and if it was still high I had to go back to the office.(Mind you the nurse that took it was supposed to highlight because it was so high and I never would have made it out of the office)
In my mind I am thinking please have went down...I don't even have a bag packed!! My house is still in boxes for the most part and the only room that is finished is the nursery!! It was my plan to get everything done that weekend...seeing as we were scheduled to go in 2 weeks before my due date to have him anyways!
Ok back to the story...So Lonnie takes it...its HIGHER! Up the stairs we go I am putting off calling Pooh poor guy has had 4 calls from the Dr office during the pregnancy that I would be staying due to complications(I was severely sick which caused me to be dehydrated, one stay, pre-term labor, which caused a stay AND meds to stop it until I was 35 weeks, preclampsia which includes high blood pressure and swelling, which got me another overnight stay..and there was one other in there for one of the 3) So I go to the room where they do the NST testing spent alot of time in this room I knew it well...and wait. They make me put my feet up, put the monitor on my tummy, and try to calm down. Dr. C comes in takes me pressure again and looks at the movements on the NST machine. Guess what...we are headed up to L & D. I make the call to the hubby....
Up in L & D my pressure keeps climbing, I am starting to have contractions...and they need some blood to do some tests, and to start an IV. So in come the vampires(AND I AM not talking the sparkley kind!) Someone please tell me why when you tell someone in the medical field that you have horrible veins, use a butterfly needle and that it usually takes an anesthesiologist to start the IV that they look at it like a challenge?? 6 people, huge bruises, 2-3 vials of blood, numerous needles, and an anesthesiologist later we have a line and enough blood for their tests.
The hubby arrives. We decided to wait and make phone calls to our families until we for sure knew what was going on. No reason to raise the alarm...yet. (well I did call my Mom....but what girl wouldn't. :)) So we wait. Dr.C isn't coming until after the office closes and the blood tests have time to be completed...so we wait some more....Finally around 4:30 he comes in looks over my chart and says well when is the last time you ate today? I said around 9:30 this morning on the way to your office. His response okay then...lets have this baby! I'll be back around 7:30 and we will have him around 9!!( WHAT! I am excited at first...and then I go straight to freak out mode...I am so scared. Pooh is overjoyed he wanted him to come on Halloween anyway..so this worked out for him!)
Now let me tell you reasons behind some of this. Preclampsia has set in and turned itself into to toxemia...my bp was 170(maybe 180 don't remember 100%) over 98/89? at this point. And Dr.C said if we don't take him now you will be rushing back tonight or tomorrow with seizures and that is not good for you or him. Well I know that but...still a baby on Halloween? Now the Dr is referring to him as the "boo baby". Great. So we make the phone calls...my Mom is almost there, my brother is taking my sister trick or treating, my mother in law is coming, my step dad is coming, one set of brother and sister in law are down in Miami visiting family, and the others I later learned are 4 houses down with my nieces trick or treating, and Pooh's Dad is coming down from Ga. So its pretty much just going to be us..for a little while...and to tell you the truth I kinda like it that way. :)
So my Mom arrives, comes into the room to wait with my while Pooh runs home to shower and pack our bags. Let me just tell you laying in a hospital bed knowing you are about to be cut open and a baby pulled out does not help the process of trying to write a list of things that all 3 of us are going to need....not to mention that alot of stuff is in boxes and I am trying to remember where said boxes are. But he manages, makes it back and we wait. Then the nurse comes in to talk to us, gives Pooh his scrubs(he was VERY excited about that), then the anesthesiologist, and then finally Dr. C comes walking in with a flannel shirt, boots, jeans, and the biggest foam floppy cowboy hat I have ever seen! Yep its Halloween. He heads off to get ready while we wait, my Mom has to leave us...we are both crying but she is trying to hold it together for me(love you Momma). Now its just me and Pooh. I'll admit that those 10-15 minutes when it was just the two of us I felt such a connection and such love for him, and knowing that we were about to be a family of 3 made us both over joyed.
They take us down the hallway to the OR, he has to wait in a chair outside while they give me my spinal block, and get everything set up. Can I just say that trying to bend over far enough and not move when you have a baby in your tummy and you are swollen are not an easy thing to accomplish while they are trying to get your medicine in your spine! I just remember it being very cold, me telling them to keep an eye on Pooh I was worried he would pass out, and thinking please please let me be numb when they start! They started at 9:00 pm, Pooh was there talking to me and rubbing my hair, I wanted so bad to hold his hand but mine were tied down...and then all of a sudden Dr. C says it wont be long now I almost have him! I'm like WTH?! I didn't even know you had started! :) So at 9:15pm on Halloween...I hear that first amazing cry of MY baby. 6lbs, 9oz of perfection, he had a head full of dark hair and the sweetest face I've ever seen.
They show him to us...we are both in tears... we take a few pictures then away Pooh and our beautiful baby go. I'm left alone for the Dr to finish up. By the time I am in recovery people started arriving. As they let everyone in they are dying to get their hands on Corbin but too bad I haven't gotten a chance to hold him yet...I didn't want to give him up but I could tell that his Grandmothers and Papa were about ready to snatch him from me!
So this is the story on the day my little man was born...its hard to believe that its already been a year(ok over a year) since this day...There have been some hard ones, some long ones, and ones where I just didn't know what to do...but there is nothing in this world that would make me change a thing.

{Angel Baby- Happy first birthday! From the time that we found out you were on the way we loved you...from the first time you were placed in my arms I knew that I could never love anyone more. You have helped to make us a "family" the missing piece to our small puzzle. I love how everyday is an adventure to you...and I love watching the world unfold through your eyes. Everything is so new and exciting. I love your temper and your Hulk pose, I love your smiles they melt my heart, I love how you make me crazy some days, how you worry me on others, I love that you think I can fix anything and make everything better, how you make funny faces at Daddy especially when he is getting on to you because you know it will make him laugh....How you are fearless and into everything. I love how you have turned my world upside down for the better and stolen my heart. Remember Corbie we love you more than you will ever know..and we are so proud and thankful that you are ours. Love~ Mama and Daddy}

So it is my goal for this week to get at least one of them on here. There Ive said it...now I just have to follow through.

*Its Been Awhile*

Can I start by saying I'm sorry...I know its been a very long time since I've posted, but things have been alittle busy around here. What we have been working towards with my job and the company finally came to well some what of an end last week. :) The company has been sold...No more Pineview. But now I have to keep going in to tie up all the loose ends and get all the accounting closed out. Its strange to be there and hear the talk of all the changes that are being made...and well to be honest its alittle sad, the end of an "era" you could say. I've worked there pretty much for the last 10 years of my life. But time to move on I guess and its whats best for my Papa.

Another big thing that is coming up is the big birthday party that I am planning. I cant believe that I am about to type this but Corbin will be a year old in a month! Its crazy...it seems just like yesterday I was pregnant and couldn't wait to meet him! Now the little guy is almost one...where did the past 11 months go!? He is my world...lights up my life every single day..I'm just not ready for him to grow up!

Just a couple of other things that have been going on....We just recently celebrated Pooh's 28th birthday! It was a nice night Mom took Corbie for us so we got to go on a "date" just the two of us and what did we do you ask? Why we went to the movies of course! Lets see..JJ had his first birthday party! Also a couple of weekends ago I was able to go with Kayla(my bros fiance, Mom, Morgan, and her fam) to pick out her wedding dress. I would LOVE to post pictures of it...it is beautiful, but you never know Benny may find his way to my blog. She looked amazing in everyone that she tried on..BUT that one got the collective gasp from all of us...it is the one! :)

I am going to try and get back on track with the whole blog...I'll start tomorrow on wordless Wednesday! Now I'm off to take a nap..because we had a rough night around here!

*He was feeling a bit Saucy*

And by saucy...I mean applesauce! This is our first little experiment in letting the little man feed his self with a spoon. He does great with his finger foods, and is constantly trying to take the spoon out of our hands so one night during dinner we said why not...

If you notice with every picture he is getting more and more all over him....

What you may or may not be able to tell from this picture is that he kept flipping the spoon upside down...but couldn't figure out why the applesauce was falling off and all over him!

Eventually..the spoon ends up on the floor...and he just uses his hand..its a quicker method!

Finally..no hands are even required...lets just "drink" it out of the plastic container...

In case you are wondering he does very well with his sippy cup!

Hes a big boy! Now you may very well be asking yourself...how much did I have to clean up off the floor? The answer is one paper towel..that's all it took..He had the majority of it all over himself! So we stripped him in his high chair and very careful carried him straight to the tub! He loved every minute of it and was so proud of himself. I think for the first time with a spoon he did very well....Hes a boy hes going to get dirty right!? No use in trying to stop it!

*Wordless Wednesday*

(I'll explain more about this later...)

*10 Months & a Mohawk?*

Its hard to believe that my little guy is already 10 months old! It doesn't seem like he should be that old yet...almost a year WOW! He has grown so much and amazes his Daddy and I more everyday. I dropped by to see his Aunt Kayla the other day at the Salon...while I was there she watched him for me while I ran into the meat store real quick.....when I made it back,(I was gone no longer than 10 minutes) this is what they had done to my little guy!
What can I say hes cute, even with his hair standing up 3 inches off of his head!

They had so much gel in there that I had to scrub his head that night! But it stayed put..even after a nap and rolling on the floor with his cousins!

*The Bag Boy*

I think that my child may have a future at WD bagging groceries. :) I was cleaning the kitchen the other afternoon, I mean one of those really good scrub downs. So I had Corbin in his walker doing what he does best running/rolling around the house. He loves to get into the cabinets...he opens them, shuts them, opens them, and then slams them shut...over and over again! Luckily he cant reach inside the cabinets yet to pull anything out. Or so I thought......

He had pulled them out of the cabinet and got them stuck under the walker! He thought that it was the best thing. So I had to stop and take a couple of pictures..

By the end of this fun I had a trail of plastic bags all over the house!

*9 Month Pictures*

We were finally able to get Corbie's 9 month pictures taken. Poor little fella was sick when we had them schedule so they had to be postponed. :( And my fantastic Sister in Law Kari is a very very busy bee this month so we were kinda worried that she wouldnt be able to fit him in. But being the wonderful person that she is she made time for us. :)(muah)

They turned out amazing as usual cant wait to see the rest of them! Of course my little devil is ALWAYS dressed to impress so he was sportin' his pink polo. Yeah thats right I said pink! He rocked it..and his Daddy didnt even mind that it was pink. He looked soooo cute! Please go check out her blog to see them!!

*Sorry*

I havent blogged in a while...its been almost two weeks. I was going to blog some last week..BUT Corbin had a nasty cold that turned into a rash this weekend. Come to find out(after I freaked out) asked some questions and it was a very common rash. They call it roseola rash, it happens to lots of babies after they run a very high fever for a couple of days. I think that someone told me its a form of the mumps. But he is doing sooooo much better now! Except I think that we might be cutting some teeth. :) Thats all for now...hope to blog more soon!

*Cousins (Part 2)*

We had the chance to visit this cute little guy the day before his first birthday. This is Corbin's 2nd cousin Weston. His Daddy(Riley) and I are first cousins. He feels more like a brother we have always been really close. But this is from the day we were over...I have more but they are upside down...tried rotating them in my photos but it didnt work..would love to show them to you but oh well this will have to do!

*9 months!*

Its so hard to believe that it has been nine months already! My little guy is growing up and there is nothing that I can do about it! He is getting so big and learning more and more everyday. He has turned into quite the big boy lately...Here he is showing off!
Big Boy!
He thought that this was the funniest thing! Poor guys this is from the weekend that they were both so sick.
Love his face in this one..he is so proud of himself!
Yummy....he likes pickles!
Sorry this one is kinda blurry, I took it with my phone and he was moving... This is his first taste of Sports Page food! Mac & Cheese! He loved it..although I don't think that they loved the mess that he made. ( I did clean it up by the way :))

We have his 9 month photo session schedule for next week. Cant wait to see how they turn out..I'll post a link to the sneak peek when she gets them up!

*Cousins (Part 1)*

I missed wordless wednesday this week! But oh well...My Mom was out of town this week on v-cation(as my sister would say). They went to the Nations Capital for a week long trip. Now usually she keeps Corbie for me while I am working, but since she was gone I asked my sister in law Kari to keep him.(Thanks again!) Now he loves his cousins...and they love him!
Before I left Avery had started catching a ride with him on his walker. This was cracking us up!
Kari broke her camera out and managed to catch these cute shots of them together. :)
I see these on the pages of their High School year book in the distant future!(or not so distant) Now all we need is some bathtub shots!
